Chemical Destroys Microbes Through HVAC

Bactum AntiBac SoftClean, a quaternary ammonia compound with a powerful anti-microbial action, has now been found suitable to be fogged through air-conditioning ducts to destroy bacteria, yeast and mold in the HVAC systems, according to the company that produces it. Within a 24 hour period, the active solution works its way through the air conditioning master unit and ducts. It is non-toxic, non-corrosive and fully biodegradable.

First developed by industrial chemist Robert Goldsworthy, Bactum was originally designed as an additive to paint to control the spread of bacteria and mold on any painted surface. Now, it can also be used to treat houses and commercial buildings damaged by water, fire, and sewage, as well as upholstery and soft furnishings.
